Even though I am Alpha Esti student, I am not a total beginner to make up application.
I have some previous theatrical experience applying make up for the stage as well as photo shoots. During the intro phase I remember the first time we had partners and ventured into the intimidating task of applying make up on each other. I remember thinking “I got this”, but I found out that in reality, I did not!
After many layers of foundation, contour, blush, and blue eyeshadow, I stepped back and to my horror I realized I had done a convincing job at making my poor partner a characture right out of the Nutcracker Ballet!
When looking at Aveda make up the word that comes to mind is… SUBTLE.
Natural is the theme here. “To enhance and create a freshness, a pleasant face to look at” (Wise words spoken by our incredibly wonderful alpha make up educator Shawn Peltier). In other words, no need to be seen all the way to the back of the theater.
One of my guest came in for a make up service, she wanted a glamourous evening look, but she loved the natural look of Aveda eye shadows. Because it was her wedding anniversary, she wanted to surprise her husband as she does not usually wear make up. I was able to successfully apply my experience of flair and little bit of “drama” to create the exact look she wanted.
